Rusks recipe
Taking a page from Amul, here's a recipe that I used the other night... (credits go to mom)
Ingredients:
- sugar
- cinnamon
- soft butter (or spread)
- hot dog buns
- Separate the tops and bottoms of the hot dog buns
- Spread a thin layer of butter on the sides that used to be the inside of the hot dog bun (it helps if the butter is soft)
- Cut the buttered hot dog buns into one inch wide pieces
- Mix cinnamon and sugar - there should be more sugar in the mix
- Sprinkle the mix on the buttered part of the bun pieces, and shake off any excess that doesn't stick
- Put the pieces on a pan, and stick it into the oven at room temperature
- Turn the oven on at a low temperature - say 250-300 or so
- Once it reaches that temperature, turn the oven off
- Wait for the oven to cool down
- Do the heating and cooling cycles at least two more times
They aren't difficult, but I like them :)
